National Intelligence Agency (NIA)

Mohammed Mohammed has been appointed as the new Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA). Mohammed’s extensive experience in the foreign service, including his recent role as the head of the Nigerian mission to Libya, positions him well for this pivotal role.

A graduate of Bayero University, Kano, he has served in various international and domestic capacities, including assignments in North Korea, Pakistan, Sudan, and at the State House in Abuja. His diverse background is expected to bring a fresh perspective to Nigeria’s foreign intelligence operations.

Department of State Services (DSS)

Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi has been named the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS). Ajayi, who previously served as an Assistant Director-General, has climbed the ranks within the service, showcasing a deep understanding of national security matters.

Throughout his career, he has served as the State Director in several states, including Bauchi, Enugu, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Kogi, where he developed a reputation for his strategic thinking and operational effectiveness.

President Tinubu emphasized the importance of collaboration among the newly appointed security chiefs and urged them to work closely with sister agencies and align their efforts with the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).

He also expressed gratitude to the outgoing Directors-General for their dedicated service to the nation and wished them well in their future endeavors.

These appointments come at a critical time as Nigeria continues to face a range of security challenges. The President’s strategic move aims to reinforce the country’s intelligence and security capabilities, with the newly appointed heads expected to deliver effective results.
