Rihanna Becomes New Face of Dior’s J’Adore Fragrance
Rihanna has been named the new ambassador for Dior’s iconic J’Adore fragrance, taking over from longtime muse Charlize Theron. The Barbadian singer and beauty mogul is the first Black woman to front the luxury brand’s signature scent.
In a statement, Rihanna expressed her excitement at the collaboration, saying “Being the new face of J’Adore is both an honor and a mission. This scent, that I have known and loved for so long, means so much to women.
I am especially looking forward to joining this adventure and contributing to it through my world, my story, my roots, as well as my creativity and my own femininity.”
The 36-year-old star recently filmed a campaign for J’Adore at the historic Palace of Versailles in France, directed by renowned photographer Steven Klein.
The film, set to debut on August 31, blends the timeless elegance of the palace with Rihanna’s contemporary beauty, creating a visual dialogue between classical and modern styles.
Véronique Courtois, CEO of Parfums Christian Dior, praised Rihanna’s “exceptional talent, audacity, and captivating beauty”, calling her the “ideal embodiment of dazzling, powerful Dior femininity that transcends generations.”
The campaign emphasizes gold and light, representing the luxurious and radiant qualities of J’Adore.
Rihanna’s personal connection to the fragrance dates back to her childhood, when her mother, who worked in a perfume shop, would bring home J’Adore testers. The singer has been enamored with the scent ever since.
The new J’Adore campaign marks a significant milestone for Rihanna, who first collaborated with Dior in 2015 for their “Secret Garden” fashion film.
Her appointment as ambassador further solidifies her status as a global style icon and beauty mogul, with her own successful cosmetics line Fenty Beauty under the LVMH umbrella.
