Poets in Nigeria to Hold Cross Country Celebration of Poetry

The theme of the event is “A Nation on the Wings of Poetry”.

Poets in Nigeria to Hold Cross Country Celebration of PoetryPoets in Nigeria, a non-profit, non-religious, non-political, non-governmental literary body founded in 2015 with the core mandate of promoting the culture of reading, writing and performance of poetry, tourism, and the arts towards broadening creativity for literary excellence, is set to hold a cross-country poetry celebration on October 21st, 2023.

The theme of the event is “A Nation on the Wings of Poetry”. The event will be held across 44 locations in 32 states including the FCT.

The celebration aims to promote reading and creativity via poetry, support identified talents towards honing their creative skills, promote new voices for poetry, enhance Nigeria’s growing market for poetry and ancillary activities, and connect poets for greater endeavors.

The event will feature poetry readings and performances by poets from across the country.

Poets in Nigeria has been working towards becoming Nigeria’s foremost literary promoting organization driven by poetry.

The organization has two grand patrons: Very Rev. Fr. Professor Christian Anieke – VC, Godfrey Okoye University and Prince (Dr) Yemisi Adedoyin Shyllon – Grand Donor, Yemisi Shyllon Museum of Arts, Pan Atlantic University, Lagos.

This cross-country celebration of poetry is expected to open up new vistas for poetry and creativity in Nigeria .
