The Baale of Ikorodu, the traditional ruler of Gberigbe community in Lagos State, has revealed how he prevented Joseph Aloba, the father of late singer Ilerioluwa Olade, popularly known as Mohbad, from burying him at midnight on the day he died.
Mohbad, who was a rising star in the Nigerian music industry, died at the age of 27 on September 12, 2023. He was also buried the next day in Ikorodu, according to his father’s wishes.

However, the Baale of Ikorodu claimed that Aloba the father of Mohbad had initially planned to bury his son in the middle of the night, without following the proper rites.
The Baale said he had to intervene and advise him against such a move, as it would raise suspicions and questions among the people.
The Baale’s revelation has sparked curiosity among many Nigerians, who wondered why Aloba wanted to bury his son so hastily.
Aloba has not responded to what the Baale said about him wanting to bury his son at midnight. He has only expressed his grief and sorrow over losing his son. He also thanked Mohbad’s fans and colleagues for their support and condolences.
