A fire broke out at the Supreme Court complex in Abuja on Monday morning, causing panic among staff members and visitors. The fire, which started around 7am, affected three offices in the administrative wing of the court, including that of Justice Mohammed Saulawa.
The cause of the fire was suspected to be an electrical malfunction in one of the offices. The Supreme Court Fire Service section managed to put off the fire and security personnel were on ground to ensure law and order.
No human casualty was recorded, but it was not clear whether sensitive documents and files were destroyed by the fire.

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has reacted to the incident, saying that it was not a major one and that normal activities have resumed at the court
