Nollywood actress Uche Jombo has been accused of being a fraud by a popular TikToker, Verydarkman, who slammed her for promoting a skincare product that allegedly does not work.
Verydarkman, who is known for exposing fake and harmful skincare products on social media, shared a video of Uche Jombo endorsing a product that claims to make her skin glow. However, he pointed out that the actress was wearing makeup in the video and that her skin was not as flawless as she claimed.
He called her wicked and dishonest for deceiving her fans and followers with false advertisement. Verydarkman also questioned why she would promote an unregistered product that could potentially damage people’s skin.
He said: “Why will Uche Jombo apply make-up on her face to do a skincare advert behaving like it’s the cream making her glow when she’s actually not glowing?
“You can tell she is wearing makeup in that video, and she’s smiling and singing Brow Skin Girl, meanwhile, the colour of the skin on her face is different from the one on her hand. You are a fraud, and this is a fraud advertisement and its wickedness.
“You obviously don’t use that cream, but because of your naive and gullible followers, they gush over your skin, and you want to sell it to them and lie to them because of small money. Something that will later damage their skin wickedness.”
This is not the first time that Verydarkman has called out celebrities and influencers for their skincare endorsements.
He recently got NAFDAC to shut down the business of Jenny’s Glow, a skincare entrepreneur who was allegedly selling harmful products. He also had a feud with actress Nkechi Blessing, who he accused of lying about her skin transformation.
Uche Jombo has not responded to the allegations as of the time of writing this report.
The actress is one of the most respected and successful figures in the Nigerian movie industry, with over two decades of experience. She has starred in several movies and TV shows, such as Damage, Holding Hope, Wives on Strike, and Unconditional. She is also a producer, writer, and director.
