A female student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has been arrested by the police for allegedly pouring hot water on the president of her lodge in Ifite, Awka, Anambra State.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday, February 17, 2024, left the victim, with severe burns on his face and chest. He was rushed to the University Medical Centre for treatment.
According to eyewitnesses, the suspect, whose name was not disclosed, had a misunderstanding with the lodge president over some issues relating to the management of the lodge.
She reportedly boiled some water and waited for him to come out of his room before attacking him.
The suspect was apprehended by other residents of the lodge and handed over to the police. She is currently being detained at the Awka Divisional Police Station, where she is undergoing interrogation.
