Gucci Mane Drops Artists from 1017 Records
Gucci Mane, the influential rapper and music mogul, has announced a significant shakeup at his record label, 1017 Records.
In a surprising move, Gucci Mane revealed that he is dropping almost all the artists from his label, retaining only Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano.
In a video posted on social media, Gucci Mane explained that the decision was driven by business challenges and the need to refocus the label’s direction.
“When I’m looking at my P&L, and me being a businessman, I’m thinking that I’m going to have to release almost all my artists except for Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano,” he stated.
He emphasized that this was not an easy decision but a necessary one to ensure the label’s future success.
The announcement comes after a tumultuous period for 1017 Records, marked by the tragic deaths of artists Enchanting and Big Scarr due to drug overdoses, and the legal troubles of several other artists.
Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano are both currently serving prison sentences, adding to the label’s challenges.
Despite the shakeup, Gucci Mane remains optimistic about the future.
He is actively seeking new talent to join the label and has launched a new imprint, So Icy Millionaires, to discover and nurture the next generation of music superstars.
This bold move by Gucci Mane underscores his commitment to maintaining a strong and focused roster at 1017 Records, while also expanding his influence in the music industry through new ventures.
